Jack-O-Lantern Cake Balls!

30 Oct

It’s Halloween week! That means that it’s time for some Halloween inspired treats. I was recently asked if I could turn some cake balls into pumpkins for my mom’s work. But why stop at pumpkins when you can turn them into some super cute jack-o-lanterns?

To do these cake balls you will need the following:

1- recipe cake balls

Some parchment paper

And these following items as well:

2 bags of orange, 1 bag of green, and 1 bag of black Candy Melts

1 brick of vanilla Almond Bark

Here’s how to make them:

First you are going to start by preparing your cake balls up to the point of dipping them in your coating. If you need the whole cake ball recipe then pop on over to my original cake ball post here and follow those easy steps. Then you want to prep your coating. I found the best way to do this is to mix your vanilla coating with your orange like so:

Then just stir, stir, stir. You want to add enough orange to make it still look orange, but not so much that you loose the thin consistency of the vanilla. The final results will look like this:

Then use this orange to dip your cake balls like you normally would. Set aside and let dry. You don’t want them to be soft.

Using your black candy melts, melt them down and put them either in a squeeze bottles, or using a decorating bag, make some jack-o-lantern faces onto your cake balls. (I found it easier to put the candy in first, then melt.)

Cute right?

But what are jack-o-lanterns without their stems? So if you want the stems all you have to do is using the same method as the black, melt down the green and put in a bottle or bag, then add some stems to the top of your pumpkins. If you hold the top of the bottle/ bag to the very tip of the stem for a second before you pull it away, you can get the stem to stand however you would like it to look.

Really. How cute are these? Super easy. Super cute. Sure to be a huge hit with any crowd.

I’d love to see your versions of these adorable cake balls, so post me a link below and I will be sure to stop by and check them out.

Until next time,

Happy Baking!
